Arty things to do in Frome this bank holiday weekend.
There is lots going on around Frome this weekend if you’re into art. Black Swan Arts has several exciting projects showing: Frome Art Society is in the main gallery. Sea of Humanity is an exhibition about the migration crisis, on at the Roundtower. Silk Mill Artist & Mount client Amanda Bee has a body of work showing in Divas. The pop-up gallery features the talented print-maker Hayley Cove.
There is of course the Frome Independent Market: with lots of artist stalls, food, vintage goodies, and events throughout the day.
Pop on a train to Bruton to catch the final weekend of the amazing Subodh Gupta exhibition at Hauser and Wirth Somerset. Over at Bruton Art Factory Jimmy Cauty‘s jam jar riot works are on display (but the actual riot tour container has since moved on).
Once you’ve done all that you’ll be so inspired you’ll probably want to create a masterpiece of your own. Join in with the Black Swan Arts 30th anniversary 1000 postcard project. Make an A6 size piece of art and donate it to Black Swan Arts by June 7th to be part of a show that aims to raise £30K in funds.
