Mount is one year old!
To celebrate our first year, Mount will have a birthday party at their Silk Mill Studio on Sunday 3rd of April from 11am-2pm. Due to popular demand, we have recently acquired an A3 scanner, which captures beautiful true-colour reproductions of art works on paper. This new wing to the business will officially launch at the party. Drinks and snacks will be served, and Framemaker Simon Keyte will be on-hand to answer any questions about framing or printing.
Mount Art Services launched at Frome’s first Independent market of 2015 and quickly became an established part of Frome’s thriving arts and culture scene. Having made a bespoke mayoral chain for Peter MacFadyen, we were asked to frame 24 photographs of the mayor wearing different bespoke chains made by various organisations and businesses in Frome. The project, led by photographer David Partner, was a not-for-profit community-minded venture, so we offered to frame all 24 photographs for free. The project has since been exhibited at the Silk Mill Gallery, Black Swan Arts Roundtower and in Halifax, Yorkshire.
Since launching, Mount acquired a new 12 colour gamut Canon giclee printer, which can print up to a width of 44 inches, and as long as a roll of paper. Our stock of archival and coated papers is extensive, including cotton and textured papers.
We quickly formed a relationship with Black Swan Arts, and we were a proud sponsor of the Black Swan Arts Young Open and the BSA Open 2015. In July 2015, Mount helped Black Swan Arts put a spark into their annual Art Car Boot, and added a fete-theme to the event. Sculptor Steve Coles put on a live iron casting show, and visitors enjoyed the modern art cake stall and “pin the monobrow on the Frida” game.
Mount’s in-house graphic designer now designs most of the Black Swan’s exhibition posters, and has worked with other galleries and artists, including Oxford’s O3 Gallery.
Join us on Sunday 3rd April to celebrate our 1st birthday!
