Introducing… Jennifer N R Smith. To celebrate our fourth birthday we’re putting on an exhibition that brings together a selection of professional artists we’ve worked with since we entered the Frome art scene in 2015. One such artist is Jennifer N R Smith.
Jennifer is an award winning illustrator and visual artist based in Bristol. She specialises in drawing as an academic inter-disciplinary tradition, and her work combines anatomical, zoological, geological and medical subject-matter with a stylised contemporary visual aesthetic. She is studying for a postgraduate in Medical Art with the Medical Artists’ Education Trust, based in London, and has student membership with the Medical Artists Association. Jennifer enjoys making conceptual work for science journalism, and has worked with clients such as Penguin Random House, Lenny Letter, and First Look Media.
Graduating from Camberwell College of Arts, UAL in 2015, Jennifer received a first class Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art Drawing. At this time she co-founded Artist Collective ‘Perhaps?’, and began widening her practice as both a fine artist and an illustrator. Her work has been exhibited widely in London, as well as Frome and Cambridge.
In To The Fore we’re featuring a work of Jennifer’s that required a two-in-one frame for two related artworks; this was a framing challenge that Simon enjoyed rising to.
