Every day during Advent 2015 we’ll feature a different South West artist. We’ve framed, printed or exhibited the artists featured in Advent Artists.
20th December: Caroline Walsh Waring
Caroline Walsh Waring is an artist based in Frome, sometimes working under the pseudonym Scarlett Art. Her surreal dreamscapes are infused with rich colour and bold style. Caroline’s paintings suggest narrative and imagination, and often have a brilliant balance between humour, light, unease and darkness. Often working in oil paint, Caroline’s work draws on traditional surrealism with a contemporary twist. Her style is celebrated for being experimental and free.
Caroline studied at Great Yarmouth College of Art and Design, and has had her work in many galleries – including Grace Gallery, 44AD, Artemis Gallery, Victoria Hall Gallery and Bruton Art Factory. Caroline was a winner of Bruton Art Factory’s Summer Show, and will be part of an exclusive group show with the other winners in 2016. Caroline is important figure in the Frome art-scene, having organised the Frome Open Studios trail for the past few years.
