From August we’re trialling new opening times.
Appointments: Mon-Thurs 1pm-6pm
Drop in times: Fridays 11am-5pm & Saturday mornings 10am-1pm
Why are we changing our opening times?
These hours are a trial. We want to see if closing to the public on weekday mornings will enable Simon, our framemaker, to make frames faster and to a higher standard. Our customer consultation area is shared with our workshop space – which means that if a customer comes in to talk to us or phones us, there is a high chance that a process in making a frame is disturbed. We’re a small studio and we don’t yet have a dedicated front of house or admin team: Simon is the only full-time member of staff. As we continue to grow and more people want to use us, it’s taking us longer and longer to complete frames as Simon is stopped mid-process multiple times in a working day. One of our core aims is to deliver excellent customer service, but the way we operate at the moment is making it hard for us to deliver on this aim.
Outside of our appointment and drop in times our phone system will be set to forward calls to our messaging service. If Simon is in a consultation during our opening hours, he won’t be able to answer the phone. We’ll listen to all messages and get back to you as soon as we can.
We recommend booking an appointment, even if you plan to come in on a drop-in day. Our first come, first served system gives priority to those who book an appointment. We’re creating a new online appointment booking system, but until it’s in place please book via email or phone, or drop in to book an appointment during our drop-in hours.
We don’t want to exclude anyone from using our services, so if there’s no way that you can come in to see us during our normal appointment or drop in times, we can arrange to see you at other times. Please email us to arrange.
These hours are subject to change – if you have any comments or suggestions, please email us. Please note our holiday closure period (9th-14th August) throughout which we will be closed.
Staff holiday closure
We’ll be closed from 9th-14th August for staff holidays.
After 2 years non-stop, Simon and Jennifer are taking a well-earned break and heading down to Dorset for a few days. If you have any enquiries before we head off, please email us: firstname.lastname@example.org

In general it tends to be good to float-mount small art works, so you don’t lose any of the picture behind the mount board. But this isn’t always the case.
